She was born October 13th, 1938 in Brooklyn, NY. She was predeceased by her parents, Theodore & Antoinette, her younger sister Bernadette, as well as her former husband Lee H. Turner, whom she married in 1955.
Mary is survived by her three devoted children: Lee Turner, Jr. of Manchester, NH; Daryn Turner of Weare, NH; and Taralyn Turner Quigley & son-in-law Edward, of W. Melbourne, FL; her 3 beloved grandchildren: Angela Quigley, Shauna Turner & Logan Quigley; her sister Barbara & brother-in-law Frank; her brother Ted & sister-in-law Debbie, along with several nieces, nephews & cousins.
During her well-lived lifetime, she was many things! To name a few: a prayerful Catholic, a dancer-especially ballet, an artist, a pilot, an adventurer, a floral designer, a supportive hockey mom, a musician, a Stephen’s Minister, a CNA caregiver. She was glamorous, classy and graceful, yet down to earth & outdoorsy - equally at home in the city as she was in the country. She was never without a giant makeup collection and always had to have her lipstick on. When at the kitchen table, she was rarely without a book in her hand, especially a good romance novel. She loved Days of Our Lives, mysteries, and any sappy Christmas love story on TV.
Later in her life, while living in Colorado with her daughter & her family, she discovered her gift of playing the Native American flute. At Holy Apostles Catholic Church in Colorado Springs, she frequently played at church services & sang in the choir. One of her most satisfying activities was playing the flute for the elderly who were homebound and in nursing homes. She also played the Irish bodhrán drum & tin whistle, and just loved making music with her eldest son Lee at many an Irish session. She made friends in an instant & spread love & joy wherever she went!
Mary leaves behind a legacy of selfless love, warmth & tenderness. She embraced life fully, but to her, simply being a mother and raising her family was her greatest accomplishment. Her loving, accepting, gentle presence will be greatly missed by her entire family, her friends, and anyone who knew & loved her.
