Born in Trenton, New Jersey, she was the daughter of George W. Fredericks and Evelyn Rose Goeke.
She attended Saint Mary’s Cathedral HS for girls and received her RN from Saint Francis School of Nursing in Trenton.
As a Navy family Marilyn and Jim raised their children in New Jersey, Alaska, and Virginia. They finally retired to Barefoot Bay, Florida in 1982.
Marilyn was employed in different fields of nursing, including school nurse, township nurse and chemical dependency unit nurse. She continued in later years as a volunteer at Sebastian Hospital.
Marilyn loved to laugh and socialize. She was a talented painter and musician. Many of her paintings are hanging in homes of friends and family. An avid bridge player, she loved card games.
“Jesus, Mary and Joseph!” Marilyn was known to call out for support from the lord’s family, many times, while raising four children.
She was an active member of the Barefoot Bay Art Guild, American Legion, Meals on Wheels, Deborah Heart Association, Saint Jude’s and other Catholic charities.
She will be remembered for her beautiful smile, great sense of humor and always going out of her way to help others
She is survived by her husband Jim, children Tom, Pat, Karen, Sharon and their spouses. Four Grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
She will be interred at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery at a later date in a private ceremony.
