Leonard Miller, 87, of Palm Bay, FL, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Friday (7/19). A native of Bronx, NY, he moved to South Florida in the early 1950s. He was known to many as the “Jack” of Jack’s Cycle Shop in North Miami. After more than 40 years in the bicycle business, he retired in 1988 and moved to Pembroke Pines and then to Palm Bay in 2000. Leonard was a devout Catholic who served as an usher at Holy Family Catholic Church in North Miami and later as a Eucharist Minister at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Palm Bay. He was also a 4th Degree Knight of Columbus.
He is predeceased by his first wife: Lillian and is survived by his wife: Marjorie (nee Luty) Miller; daughter: Susan R. Miller (Gayle) of Pembroke Pines; grandchildren: Kaila and Jia; sister: Shirley (Kenneth) Anhalt of Sierra Madre, CA; many nieces and nephews as well as many good friends. Leonard was a man who was loved by all.
Friends may call at the Fountainhead Funeral Home Wednesday (7/24) from 6 until 8 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday (7/25) at 10:00 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Leonard will be cremated and his cremated body will be interred at a future date at Southern Memorial Park, 15000 W. Dixie Highway in North Miami. For friends who wish, the family suggests memorial donations to Hospice of St. Francis, Inc., 1250-B Grumman Place, Titusville, FL 32780 or a charity of choice.
