James M. Garcia, Sr., 82, of Boca Raton, Florida passed away peacefully at his daughter’s home in Palm Bay, FL with his devoted wife and loving daughter by his side. Born in Brooklyn, NY, Jim moved with his family to Jersey City, NJ at a young age. Through the years, he cultivated a career in industrial hardware sales that spanned 65+ years. This career saw him owning his first business in industrial supply. Bored with retirement, he spent over 12+ years with Lowes in Boca Raton, offering his advice and wisdom to all he encountered. Jim was always happiest when interacting with people and joking around with absolutely anyone he could. He was quick witted and easy to be around, always ready with a joke to lighten any room.
Jim leaves behind his devoted wife, Maureen (nee Murphy). A devoted husband for 63 years, he shared a lifetime of companionship, strength, and gentle love with his cherished wife. Their enduring bond was a testament to true partnership, built on mutual respect and deep affection. His love for Maureen was unwavering and steadfast. Above all, he was honest and true, a man of honor, and a hard working man.
He is survived by his loving daughter, Sharon Garcia, of Palm Bay, FL. He was a loving and proud father, and he especially doted on his only daughter, with whom he shared a special bond that words could scarcely describe. His kindness, wisdom, and constant support were the foundation upon which she grew, and his love will remain with her forever. Jim also leaves behind his estranged sons, James and Michael Garcia, 6 grandchildren, Nicole, Michele, Jared, Danielle, Brian, and Isabella and 3 great grandchildren Mason, Alexandra and Ryder as well as many neices and nephews.
James was predeceased by his mother, Viola Garcia (nee Wolleon) and father Manuel (James) Garcia, his dear sister Harriet Christensen Steinfeld (nee Garcia), and his best friend and brother Robert (Bob) Garcia.
To know him was to know laughter, warmth, generosity, and quiet strength. He touched many lives with his gentle nature and selfless heart. Though he may no longer be with us in body, his spirit and the love he gave so freely will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
