Born in Poughkeepsie New York September 5,1945 passed away on May 8th 2017. He relocated his family to south Florida in 1975 and migrated to Palm Bay in 2006. He enjoyed woodworking and was an active member of the American legion.
He was a store manager for Grand Union for over twenty years as well as several other grocery stores over the course of his career. His favorite and final job before retiring was working as a retail merchandiser for Mount Olive Pickles where he was able to travel and train new representatives throughout the company.
Jim is survived by his sister Bonnie Cornell of Pleasant Valley, NY, his two daughters Lory Ann Cornell of Palm Bay, FL, and Karen L. Cornell of Melbourne, FL and two grandsons James and Daniel Banfalvy. He was predeceased by his parents James and Eunice Cornell, loving wife Mary P. Cornell and his older sisters: Maxene Curran and Lorraine Clarke.
Service to be held at Fountainhead Funeral Home at: 7359 Babcock Street SE, Palm Bay, FL 32909 at 3 PM on May 27th, followed by interment at Fountainhead Memorial Park at 4 PM, then a celebration of life at the American Legion Post #394 at 5 PM: 396 Cogan Drive, Palm Bay, FL 32909.
