Jack was born to Glenn R. Fannin and Mable S. Spurlock September 12, 1929 in Prestonsburg, Kentucky. After sitting behind and meeting his High School Sweetheart in math class, he eventually wed Mildred Ernestean Baldridge. Together they both raised their only child, Glenn Richard Fannin, who unexpectedly passed in 2006.
He leaves one grandson, Christopher Cody Fannin, his granddaughter-in-Law Shellene E. Fannin, two great grandchildren, Clayton C. Fannin and Reese E. Fannin who all reside in Fresno, California. His grandson remembers him as a thoughtful and caring man who alway put others before himself.
In his early years, Jack worked stocking groceries at his father’s locally owned grocery store. Jack eventually left the family business, taking a position as an accountant for the Kentucky Gas Company. Jack earned a promotion and moved his family to Pittsburg, Pennsylvania to the corporate office and worked there until 1989, retiring after 35 years.
Jack was deeply involved in the Church; attending bible studies, Sunday service, singing in the church choir, as well as being a long serving member of the Gideons. He always embraced the forever friendships he made at the church and always loved going out to lunch with the group after Sunday service. Jack R. Fannin will forever be missed.
