Tuesday, October 11, 2022 at the age of 92 years, one month and six days.
He was born in Cross Roads, St. Andrew, Jamaica to Hannah Victoria Green
and Zephaniah Hope on September 5, 1930. Irving was married for 56
years to Alexia Veronica Labastide Hope from February 19, 1966, until
his passing. He was a professional Tailor and an accomplished Cook, as
well as a Jack-of-all-Trades.
Irving worked, first, as a cook at his mother’s restaurant in Montego
Bay, Jamaica, then in England, followed by the United States.
Irving is predeceased by his parents, Hannah and Zephaniah, his beloved
grandmother, Charlotte Maria Cook Green, his brother, Kenneth Hope,
sisters, Una Hespy Armstrong and Icilda May Hope Cox.
Irving is survived by his wife, Alexia, his two sons, Stephen and Terry
Hope, grandchildren, Mercades Alexia, Jada Imani and Stephen Amaru Hope,
great-grandson, Drew Kenzo Taj Hope, his eldest sister, Inez Duhaney
(101 years old), nieces, Barbara and Vilma Duhaney, and BettyAnne Cox,
nephews, Lloyd Duhaney, Michael Brown and Delroy Forbes, a host of
grandnieces and grandnephews, cousin, Felix Green, and a myriad of loved
ones, relatives and friends.
All Services for Irving will be held Wednesday, October 19, 2022.
