Born in the city of Port of Spain, Trinidad, he was the son of Francois Juanai and Nathaniel McGregor. Gordon graduated from high school and vocational school in Trinidad. He was self-taught in many languages. Gordon spoke and understood Spanish, French, and Russian. For 10 years, he was employed in a Navy Yard in Brooklyn, New York. Gordan then found his calling with the New York Transit Authority. He was employed for 27 years as an electrical engineer and train inspector. In May of 2008, he retired and made Florida his permanent residence.
He was a member of the Catholic Church until young adulthood and had Christian beliefs. In 2006, he became a dedicated member of the Science of Spirituality organization. Through his new found spirituality, he was able to enjoy and fulfill one of his hobbies of traveling both domestic and internationally. He also had a love for reading, gardening, and the appreciation for nature. He will be remembered for his generosity, his outspokenness, and his love for his children and sister.
He is survived by his loving wife Barbara McGregor, his four children: Marcia McGregor, Anthony McGregor, Marsha McGregor, and Shanye McGregor, five grandchildren: Marvin McGregor, Carla McGregor, Jasmin McGregor, Kiasha McGregor, and Saiida Powell, five great grandchildren: Tajanae McGregor, Jayda McGregor, China McGregor, Madison Morriseau, and Anthony Morriseau, sister Lilia Niles, nephew Andre Niles and his spouse Sherina Niles, niece Suzette Niles, nephew Gerard Niles, grand nephew Nicolas Farrow, and step daughter Alicia Dixon and her family. He was predeceased by his father Nathanial McGregor and his mother Francois Juanai.
The memorial service will be held on December 22nd, 2019 at 1:30 pm at Fountainhead Funeral Home, 7359 Babcock Street SE, Palm Bay, Florida 32909. Receiving of Friends will be held from 1:00 pm to the time of the service.
