Gerald D. Baker

Gerald was born in Lancaster SC to Thomas Baker & Polly Balkcum on June 7, 1937. He married Barbara F. Thompson on February 21, 1959 in Great Falls, SC. He worked as a clerk for the USPS for 30 years. He served in the US Army Reserves. He enjoyed his family and consumed himself with them. He also spent his free time on the golf course playing his favorite sport.

Gerald is survived by his wife Barbara of 58 and 11 months, daughter Beth Baker (Stu), daughter Mandy Baker Pinnell (Quinn), brother Theron Baker, brother Keith Deese, granddaughters Logan Wilson “Poppa’s pretty girl”, Alexis Pinnell and Madison Pinnell, grandsons, Parker Pinnell and Thomas Wilson and many more “grand’s” that called him Poppa. Sisters in law, Helen Capps, Trish Gunter (Jimmy) and Frances Bass, nephews and nieces and many cousins.

Gerald is preceded in death by his mother, father, stepmother, 3 stepsisters and 1 stepbrother, 1 niece, and 1 nephew.

Pallbearers will be Duane Capps, Bruce Williams, Russell Williams, Quinn Pinnell, Stu Ragas and Rick Edginton.

The family of Gerald wishes to extend out sincere thanks to all who knew and loved him and will sorely miss him.

Visitation will be held Monday, February 5th from 12:00pm until the time of service at 2:00pm with burial to follow in Fountainhead Memorial Park.
