George was born on June 7, 1927 in College Point, New York. He proudly served his country as a Marine during World War II. Following his military service, George apprenticed as a plumber, leading to a 50 year career as a master plumber.
George married Gloria Campagna in 1951 and shared a love for big band music. They often drew attention while dancing, and George passed along his love of music and dancing to his daughters.
George loved numerous outdoor activities including horseshoes, bocci, bike riding and especially fishing.
He could often be found watching a football or baseball game, and he loved his Giants teams, rooting for the San Francisco Giants and the New York Giants. His passion for watching baseball lead to playing softball in Colorado following his retirement, and he even hit a grand slam at 72 years old.
George is survived by his wife of 68 years, Gloria, daughters Marion Atwood, Glori-Ann (Tom) Allen, Theresa (Jim) Ferguson, and Elaine Stueber, grandchildren Jay (Katie) Terrazas, Joe (Michelle) Terrazas, Zack (Tasha) Allen, Luke (Emma) Allen, Chris (Alexandra) Ferguson, Steven (Kristina) Ferguson, Megan Stueber, Matthew Stueber, great-grandchildren Jourdan and Alex Terrazas, Nadia and Ryder Allen, and Noah Allen.
A viewing will be held on Dec. 18 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. with a service immediately following at Fountainhead Memorial in Palm Bay. A reception is to follow the service from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. A military service will be held at Ft. Logan, Colorado at a later date.
