Faustina “Tina” Carrasquillo Ayala, 81, died Sunday December 9, 2012 at William Childs Hospice House. She was born in San Lorenzo, Puerto Rico to Fabian and Barbara Carrasquilla. Tina moved to New York in 1952 and came to Palm Bay from Lorain, Ohio in 1995.
Tina was an avid Bingo player in Lorain, Ohio her joyous moments were spent cooking for her family, gardening with roses and gardenias being her favorite, crocheting, painting ceramics, traveling and spending time with her grandchildren.
Tina was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Jose Ayala, Sr., U.S. Army Retired. She is surived by her daughters Carmen D. Ayala of Palm Bay and Awilda “Willie” Ayalla of Lindenhurst, NY; her sons Sixto Ortiz, Jr. and Jose Ayala, Jr., both of Palm Bay. She is also survived by her 15 grandchildren including Christopher Williams, 20 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
A visitation will be held Wednesday, December 12, 2012 from 11am to 3:30 p.m. with services following at 3:30 p.m. at fountainhead Funeral Home. Entombment will follow at Fountainhead Memorial Park.
