Ethel was a loving aunt and wonderful help in the first months of life for all her eleven nieces and nephews. She was a great Christian and prayer warrior. She traveled around as an Evangelist singing and playing her guitar. She taught children's Sunday School in every church she attended.
In 1966 Ethel filed an application for a VISA to spend 3 years as a missionary to Japan. Unfortunately before that could come to fruition, she was in a bad automobile accident which closed the door to Japan for Ethel.
June 1, 1967 Ethel and her parents moved from Dayton, OH to Bradenton, Florida. Ethel worked in the clerical department at the Bradenton Harold, the main newspaper for Manatee County. Later she was hired as the executive secretary to the president of the University of South Florida at Sarasota and remained there more than ten years. Ethel retired from that position.
In 2003, after the passing of both her parents, Ethel bought a cabin at the Church of God campground in Wiamauma, Florida. Her last pastor there was Rev Tom Durrance. She had been his Sunday School teacher when he was a little boy in the Palmetto Church of God. On January 5, 2018 Ethel moved from Wimauma to Palm Bay to help take care of her brother Brad.
