Daphne Maud Ferron was born April 12, 1927 to Iuta Cross and Cecil Ferguson in Kingston, Jamaica. She passed away on Saturday October 8, 2016 in Palm Bay, Florida. Daphne moved to England at the age of 18 and studied nursing and was a nurse at the local hospitals for approximately 20 years. In 1953, Daphne met her husband Rudolph Ferron and they were married in 1954. Later in life Daphne decided to change careers and became a civil servant for both the English and Canadian Federal Government. At 60, Daphne retired and she and her husband Rudolph moved to Palm Bay.
Daphne was full of life and loved reading, specifically the Bible. Daphne loved the beach and spent many days there with her grandchildren when they were younger. Daphne also loved chocolate, almonds and cooking. As Daphne got older she really enjoyed socializing and watching her favorite TV shows like the “Price is Right” and “The Young and the Restless.
Daphne was a loving grandmother and friend who was loved by many. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Rudolph of 64 years and leaves behind her children Carol Ferron-Smith of Wolverhampton, Claudette Ferron of Potomac, Maryland, Paula English of Baltimore Maryland; 10 grandchildren; great grandchildren and a host of family and friends to include her beloved caretaker Darrick Wilmer.
Calling hours are 5-8PM Friday October 21, 2016 at Fountainhead Funeral Home. Services are 1PM Saturday October 22, 2016 at Fountainhead Funeral Home, 7359 Babcock Street SE, Palm Bay, Florida 32909. A committal service and entombment will follow at Fountainhead Memorial Park.
