He was born in Cuyahoga County, East Cleveland, Ohio on May 13, 1936, and called Conneaut Lake, Pennsylvania “home”.
Dale served in the United States Army from November 1953 until he was honorably discharged in August of 1962. He served in Korea where he was awarded medals for Korean Service, Good Conduct, United Nations, and National Defense Service. Dale was a Radio Operator, who was as good or better at Morse Code at the time of his death as he was in the service.
Dale had such diverse interests and a lifelong love of learning, demonstrated by earning certificates and training in computer literacy, Mixology aka Bartending, Police Auxiliary Officer for Indian River County, accounting, political leadership, in addition to required updating in the field of Aviation. Dale was a Chief Corporate Pilot for Piper Aircraft in Vero Beach for 17 years and eventually became District Manager, where he used all of his skills in Flying, Management, Customer Service, and Sales.
Because of his military background, Dale was a member of VFW, Eagles, Moose, and Elks Lodges.
Dale was a proud man and loved his family above all else.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Everett E. and Mary Curry; birth mother, Phyllis; brother, Billy Schieber; sister, Carol; son, Dale Curry Jr.; and daughters, Dorinda Curry and Dori A. Curry-Myers.
Dale is survived by his wife, Lisa Stone; brothers, Ron Curry and George Schieber; daughter, Donajean (Robert) Kapp; step-son, Mike (Marla) Gish; and his four grandchildren, Todd Rickard, Kristen Curry, Jesse King, and Alexander Gould.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, May 2, 2015 from 1:00-2:00pm at Fountainhead Funeral Home, with a funeral service following at 2:00pm. Interment will take place at Fountainhead Memorial Park.
