Bobby Jene West

Bobby Jene West of Valkaria, Florida passed away peacefully Monday afternoon, March 12th, 2012 surrounded by his family. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Mary Jane West, daughter Jana Galluccio and husband Michael, son Bobby Jene West II; 5 grandchildren Cara Melachrinos and husband Michael, Cody West, Michael Galluccio II and wife Ashley, Christopher West, Nicholas West; 4 great grandchildren Andrew Melachrinos, Hannah Melachrinos, Michael Galluccio III and Charity West, and sister Glenda Holmes. He was preceded in death by his father and mother Ray and Beatrice West and infant son.

Bobby was born in Springfield, Tennessee on June 17th, 1935. He attended Orlinda High School and was very involved with his parent’s farm. A chance meeting at a basketball game in Cross Plains is where he met the love of his life Mary Jane, and married his beautiful bride on April 18th, 1954. In 1959 he became a father for the first time with daughter Jana and later to son Bobby in 1964. The couple moved to Brevard County in November of 1964. In 1967 he began his career with the Kennedy Space Center and had the joy of watching it flourish for the next 30 years until he retired. In 1998 he retired and enjoyed life with his family and friends. He had a real passion for wood working and golf.

The memorial service will be held at Fountainhead Memorial Funeral Home in Palm Bay, Florida on Thursday, March 15th at 2pm, friends are welcome.
