Amanda Rose Miller - Oxnard, CA - Amanda Rose Miller, 24, was received by God's embrace in Heaven Friday, April 23, 2010. Amanda was born in Melbourne, FL, July 16, 1985. She grew up in Palm Bay, FL. Amanda graduated from Palm Bay High School in 2003, and married Mark Francesco soon after. She entered the U.S. Navy in September of that year. Proudly serving as a Seabee for her country, including March to October, 2007 in Iraq to protect us all. Amanda graduated from College at Fort Belvoir, VA in the fall of 2009 from the toughest school offered to Seabees. She was the only female in her graduating class. She earned the Ironman Award for physical fitness excellence, beating all her male classmates. Upon her graduation, she reported to NFELC, Port Hueneme, CA for duty as a MUSE Technician. Amanda excelled in the U.S. Navy. She earned many awards including Joint Service Commendation medal, Navy Achievement Medal, and a Flag Letter of Appreciation. She achieved rank of CE2(SCW). Amanda had a passion for sports and exercise. She excelled at all she participated in... soccer, softball, track, and weight lifting. All this prepared her for Crossfit which was the perfect combination of exercise and sports for Amanda. Her greatest achievement was participating in the Crossfit Games at Aromas, CA July 10th - 12th, 2009 placing 55th out of all the women in the country. She also placed 6th at the Crossfit 2009 Mid-Atlantic Qualifiers April 25th - 26th, 2009 at Virginia Beach, VA to qualify for the Crossfit Games in California. She was also a Certified Crossfit Trainer. Amanda was a Christian, giving herself fully to God. Along her path of life she touched many that knew her as a loving, caring, beautiful, tough young woman. She lived life to the fullest, and was tough as nails. She is missed by all. Amanda is survived by her mother, Donna J. Duncan; brother, Brandon; sister, Summer; father, Marvin E. Miller; stepmother, Donatina M. Miller; grandmothers, Rita Duncan and Martha E. Miller; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins; ex-husband, Mark Francesco; her Military/ U.S. Navy family; her Crossfit family; and her chihuahuas, Black Betty and Spaz. Amanda's remembrance will be Saturday, May 1, 2010 at 9 a.m. at Fountainhead Memorial Park, 7359 Babcock St. SE, Palm Bay, FL. Followed by a religious service and burial. A Celebration of Amanda's life will be at the family home down the street, immediately following the burial. All of Amanda's family and friends are welcomed.
