

Monterey ~ Raymond S. Suzuki, born May 28, 1920 in Stockton, passed away on May 9. He attended Waseda University in Tokyo and the University of Pacific in Stockton, CA. A Monterey resident for 63 years, Ray was the owner/operator of R.S. Suzuki Jewelers here on the Monterey Peninsula since 1961.
Ray was a member of the Monterey Peninsula Buddhist Temple, Monterey Bay Aquarium and the Nisei Bowling League. He enjoyed following all the Bay Area sports teams, but his greatest pleasure was being with his family.
Ray is survived by his wife of 63 years, Dorothy; his son, Stewart (Hiroko) Suzuki of Carmel; his son-in-law, Dennis Zamaria of Menlo Park and his grandchildren Satomi Derrick Suzuki and Alexandra Zamaria. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Connie Suzuki Zamaria, earlier this year and his siblings, George and John Suzuki and Greyce Owashi.
Memorial services will take place at the Monterey Peninsula Buddhist Temple this Sunday, May 22, at 2:00 pm. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Monterey Peninsula Buddhist Temple, 1155 Noche Buena, Seaside, 93955.
