Paul Mason, 81, of Pacific Grove, California, passed away on November 30, 2022, after a long battle with interstitial lung disease. Paul was born in 1940 to parents, Paul Mason and Florence (Iverson) Mason, in Sacramento.
After graduating from Sacramento High School, he went on to study Political Science at University of California, Berkeley. He graduated from law school at UC Hastings and then worked as a Deputy County Counsel for Santa Clara County for over 30 years.
Upon retiring in 1997, Paul moved to Pacific Grove and spent his time as a Docent at Point Lobos State Natural Reserve and the Monterey Museum of Art. He had an immense love of learning and enjoyed reading books of all genres, traveling to faraway lands such as Africa and Turkey, and taking courses through California State University Monterey.
Paul was predeceased by his daughter, Michelle Mason; his parents and his sisters, Rhoda DuBois and Pamela Patterson. He is survived by his daughter, Lynn (Mason) Jenkins; son-in-law, Rick; granddaughter, Lexi, and his sisters, Helene Posz and Joella Fazio.
A Celebration of Life will be held in the new year at a date to be determined.
