He was a flight engineer/ground control crew member in the 23rd Bomb Group, 13th Air Force and was stationed at bases from Law, New Guinea to Guian, Samar Island in the Philippines. After leaving the service he returned to Auburn and was employed in the Antique Furniture Repair Department of a local department store.
in 1951 he moved to Inglewood, California to attend an Aircraft Engineering School. After completing schooling he was employed by The Firestone Tire Company in their Missile Division where he worked on the design of Ground Support Equipment, used to launch the Army's Corporal Missile. In 1956 he was able to transfer to Monterey and to Firestone's Engineering Laboratory and assisted in the design of a system to launch an air breathing missile from the deck of submarines. After completion of the contract and the closing of the facility he was employed by Cochran Equipment Co. in Salinas where he worked on the design of produce harvesting machinery. After a few years the company evolved into Cargo Handling Equipment for airlines in the United States and eventually airlines throughout the world. While employed there the company's name changed a few times and when he retired it was The Lantis Corp. After 35 enjoyable years of designing machinery he retired in 1987 and happily took up as a hobby his old profession of antique furniture repair. This added to his income and extended his happiness of working another profession he had always enjoyed.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mary and Stephen, four brothers, Frank, Joseph, William, Peter, and sisters, Helen and Pauline Androsko Perron. He is survived by many nephews and nieces throughout the country.
He was a member of the Carmel Mission Basilica Parish and was an usher at the Sunday 11am Masses. He was also a worker at the coffee hour after the 11am Mass and for several years worked at the yearly Church Fiesta. These jobs were very fulfilling experiences for him as he was following in the footsteps of his family in serving their churches.
