Marvin Wayne Shaffer

JUNE 15TH 1933 – MAY 14TH 2021

Skip Shaffer went to be with the Lord on May 14, 2021. Skip was born in 1933 in Parsons, Kansas to Marvin and Aleen Shaffer. He moved to Salinas, CA in 1951.

Shortly after he accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior, he met and married Donna Deane. They spent 67 years of marriage faithfully serving and telling others about Jesus.They moved to Pacific Grove in 1961 and started a family, Gaila first then Mark and David.

Skip was an automotive machinist by trade and in 1968 started a business, Skips Auto Parts and Machine in Seaside. Skip and Donna spent their retirement years traveling around the country in a RV, working for a Christian organization called Sowers. They would meet up with other RVers and do maintenance and repair work and various church camps, orphanages, and schools.

Skip is survived by his wife of 67 years, Donna; son, Mark (Beverly) Shaffer; son, David Shaffer; brother, Reg Shaffer. He is also survived by five grandchildren, Brian ( Tarah ) Smith, Jenne ( Cody ) Johnson, Justin Shaffer, Jessica (James) Norman, Bobby ( Sarra) Shaffer and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Gaila Smith and grandson, Craig Shaffer

A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, May 22nd at Cypress Church, 681 Monterey-Salinas Highway at 11:00 am.
