Kate Lynn Thomas

Katie was born in Utica, NY on June 24, 1988 and in 2004 moved to California. Katie graduated from Carmel Valley High School in 2006, On August 8, 2008 she married the love of her life, Jacob R. Thomas of Carmel Valley, CA. Katie was employed with Grove Market in Pacific Grove, CA.

Katie had a passion for the outdoors, her dogs, and life itself. Katie brought so much joy to everyone that met her. Her vibrant personality will be missed by her family, friends, and coworkers. She was a strong-willed and hard working member of the community, whose memory will always be carried on by people who loved her.

Katie is survived by her beloved husband, Jacob R. Thomas, her Mother, Cheryl Gates of Holland Patent, NY and now Pacific Grove, CA, her father Robert (Bob) W. Geddes of Carmel Valley, and her brother - Mitch Geddes. While living in New York she was loved dearly by her Auntie Marilyn T. Krebs and her husband, James Krebs, her cousin - Melissa Newman, Uncles and Aunts - Michael and Edee Geddes of New Hartford, NY, Kevin and Gina Geddes of NC, William Gates, Jr. and Bridget Johnson of New Hartford, NY, Dale Gates of Cocoa, FL, Cousins - Sean Geddes, Laura Martin, Julianne and Louis D’Andrea. When Kate moved to California, she was loved and embraced by her father-in-law Mark Thomas & mother-in-law Dai Thomas of Carmel Valley, CA, brother-in-law, Jon Thomas and sister-in-law, Nicole Thomas and their children Matthew and Dylan from Carmel Valley, Michael and Sally Booher, Dick and Mary Jane Thomas and several cousins.

Kate is predeceased by her grandparents, William and Theresa Gates formerly of Bridgewater, New York, her beloved Aunt Kathryn D’Andrea of Connecticut, James W. and Barbara Geddes of New Hartford, New York.

Kate’s relatives and friends will deeply miss her. All of the family members wish to extend a heartfelt thanks to all of Kate’s friends and members of the community who have extended their help and support in Kate’s final arrangements.

Calling hours for Katie will be held on Wednesday, March 12th 2014, from 4pm to 8pm at the Paul Mortuary located at 390 Lighthouse Ave in Pacific Grove. A memorial celebration will be held at the Carmel Valley Community Center from Noon to 8pm on Saturday March 15th 2014. Please join us for food, refreshments, and music as we remember and celebrate Kate’s life.

There is a donation fund available for contributions at Chase Bank located next to the Mid Valley Shopping Center at 27845 Berwick Dr. Carmel, CA 93923. Any checks should be made payable to Jacob R. Thomas.
