Joe Favalora, 88, of Pacific Grove died Wednesday, September 1 at his residence. Born March 15, 1933 in Monterey, Joe was an Army Veteran of the Korean War. He was a self-employed commercial fisherman for many years then was a plumber serving the Monterey area including the Wharf.
Joe is survived by his daughter, Marietta (Vincenzo) Cardinale; granddaughters, Marie (Jared) McCarty of Monterey and Elise (Stephen) Echavarria of Salinas; a grandson, Anthony Joseph (Jenny) Ukestad of Monterey; a great-grandson, Luca McCarty and two more grandbabies on the way. He is also survived by his sister, Connie (Frank) Lemer of Reno and many nieces and nephews. Joe was preceded in death by his wife, Rose Ann Favalora; his parents, Cosimo and Maria; his brothers, Nash, Rusty, and Jack and his sisters, Rose Rasmussen and Mary Cox.
Recitation of the Rosary will begin at 10:30 am next Monday, September 13 at St. Angela Merici Church in Pacific Grove followed by Mass of Christian Burial.
