Jane B. Hale died peacefully after a long bout with pneumonia. Jane was born in Denver but moved to Los Angeles when she was young. She attended UCLA, where she majored in being a Pi Phi and met her future husband, Sam Hale, who went on to become a decorated bomber pilot in World War II and a Colonel in the Air Force.
Jane made friends and gave back to the community where she lived. She was a maser bridge player. She was active on the Women's Board of the American Heart Association in Washington, DC for forty-one years before moving to Monterey to be closer to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Jane is survived by her daughter, Kathy Bower of Bethesda, MD; her son, Sandy Hale of Carmel; her grandsons, Chip of Carmel Valley and Ned of Vancouver, BC; her granddaughter, Kim of Arizona and six great-grandchildren.
We thank Dr. Thomas Bradley and caregiver Keiko Hashimoto and are grateful for her many friends, residents and staff alike, at the Park Lane.
