Elizabeth M. McKean, a native of Heerlen, Holland, passed away at Community Hospital. She grew up during the Nazi occupation of Holland during World War II. Immigrating to the United States in 1947, she returned to Holland in 1949 and returned again to the US in 1952.
Elizabeth worked as a dental hygienist and then as an aide at Notre Dame Hospital in San Francisco. She and Don, her husband of sixty-two years, have made their home in Carmel since 2006.
In addition to Don, Elizabeth is survived by her children, David McKean, Raymond (Cathy) McKean, Rosemary (Bill) Cardwell, Diane McKean, Patrick (Debbie) McKean and Jeffrey McKean and four grandchildren. She was predeceased by her sons, Brian, Paul and Gregory.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated this morning, Friday, August 21 at 10:00 AM with burial at San Carlos Cemetery tomorrow, Saturday, August 22 at 9:30 AM.
