Hi Derek and Family:  I just read in the Monterey Herald about your Mom's passing.  During the time you and Kurt were in pre-school, we were friends.  Our lives went different ways and the last time I saw you and Diane was at Vince Jr. Hake's funeral.  Thinking of you at this sad time.  She was a wonderful person. Dear Derek and family,
     Diane was a good friend of mine.  I have known her ever since she began working at MCOE.  I was on the interview panel that hired her to work with our young people.  She was always so positive and encouraging, and determined to find some type of work that our students could do. Our students were very lucky to have her looking out for them.
   Diane and I and other friends would get together every once in a while to go out for breakfast, or a Chinese dinner.  She was always so proud of you and showed us the current photos of the grandchildren. 
    She loved poetry, flowers, nature, and especially the ocean. Many times we'd go for a walk at the beach and talk.
    She was a spiritual woman and had the twinkle of god in her eyes, in her laughter, and in her heart.
    We will all miss her listening ear and encouraging words.
    You'll all be in my prayers.

I feel blessed and privileged to have known you and to have been a part of your life.  Thank you for all of your support and guidance.  I will always cherish our friendship and the heart-felt conversations we shared.  I will always remember your kind, gentle, beautiful, and loving spirit.

Diane was a friend forever.  Her smile was so special and given freely.  I will miss her at our 59er luncheons.  May God be with her family during this difficult time.

Diane had such a warm, genuine way of encouraging and building up the people she worked with. Hearing her compliment my efforts made me want to be the person she described. I will try to mentor those she cared about, in her memory.

Dear Derek, As you know Mom and Dad were close friends of mine--Went thru Watsonville High together.  Then, when I was Principal @ Tularcitos  I renewed our friendship along with your entry into the school. Diane was always smiling and positive in all here work with me..Her work with MCOE was a passionate work.  She loved the students.  She was jubilant when she was able to help a student obtain work and grieved for those she could not get a job site.  I will always have you in my memory.  I will miss you but glad you are finally home.

Diane, it is too bad how it takes death to put us back in touch all these years. Sorry to learn of you passing and the loss that you family will suffer.


    Diane's gracious, beautiful person's exemplary life has left such a loving imprint on all of us.....She held the standard high for us to follow. We will miss her dearly. She's now enjoying a well deserved rest. God Bless her and her family....

I first met Diane at Moreland Notre Dame Academy; she was, i considered, my very first best friend....Although our lives never crossed after those few years, I do remember her well.  

RIP Diane; you, it seems, lived a full life and have a loving family.

Diane was not only a classmate with me, she was a good friend.  I have many happy memories with Diane.  She always had a smile and when things were tough, she  always had a smile.  She will missed - her smile, her love and her actions.  I always looked forward to seeing her at the class reunion of gals -  she will be missed. Warm and gracious, Diane was one of those very good things about my high school days. She was a winner then, and from her son's letter I see she continued to face things head on and win throughout her life. I will always be glad I had her friendship.

I don't believe I've ever known a more kind and gentle person than Diane.  I am so grateful she was my neighbor and friend.

Dear Mom, I thank God each day you were MY mom. At a young age, you had to fight for your life, against cancer, and you won. Wanting a family, you fought for me, and I was born. When I was 6, you had to fight the cancer from the past to be MY mom, and you won. You taught me to always fight for what was important and never give up.  An attribute I will always use.  Each day you showed everyone the face of God; a humble servant, by giving of yourself to those around you.  You willingly gave your love to your family, friends and the young people you worked with each day.  You have blessed us all by being a part of our lives.  Your love for us will live in our hearts forever.  I know when Jesus welcomed you home, he said "Well done faithful servant."  I will miss our talks, sharing of our daily family life, meeting for vacations and enjoying spending time with our children.  You were always the best listener and always encouraged me in everything I did.  You were my leading cheerleader, always believing in me.  I love you and am so proud of what you accomplished in your life here among us.  I know you are singing God's praises every day with outstretched arms.  With everlasting Love, your Son.
