Bruce Miller of Monterey passed away at his home on Tuesday surrounded by his loving family at the age of 62. Bruce was a native of the Monterey Peninsula. Bruce attended Pacific Grove Schools and enlisted in the United States Navy in 1970. Bruce completed one tour of Vietnam aboard the Aircraft Carrier USS Ranger. After Bruce completed his military service, he returned home to the Monterey Peninsula and went to work at Monterey Hospital and, later, at Community Hospital. Bruce continued working at Community Hospital until his MS diagnosis would no longer allow him to continue working. Bruce enjoyed art and drawing during his younger years and created Art Ad’s for a local restaurant of which he was very proud and was working on two inventions prior to his illness. Bruce’s passions were watching the San Jose Sharks games and car races on TV. Bruce was preceded in death by his two favorite people in life, his Nana (Placida Maffezzoli) and Papa (Armando Maffezzoli). Bruce’s uncle, Johnny Adams, passed away on November 26. Bruce is survived by his mother, Edie Balistreri, and his step-father, Benny Balistreri, his father, William Miller, and step-mother, Susan Miller; daughters, Cristina Davis of Reno, Nevada and Misty Miller of Salinas; his son, Salvatore Miller of Reno, Nevada and six grandchildren. He also leaves behind his siblings, Pati Miller, Debby Beck, Dyan Dickson, Fred Hardee, Brian Miller, Jeff Miller and Lisa Garcia.
