Graveside services will be held at 10:00am on Wednesday, June 5, 2013 at Woodlawn Memory Gardens with Rev. Charles Goldsmith officiating along with full military honors and Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be held on Wednesday at the funeral home from 9:00am until 9:45am.
Mr. Hammond was born on November 10, 1922 to the late Marshall and Arrie Shows Hammond in McKenzie, Alabama. He was a Veteran of WWII, Korean Conflict and Vietnam. SFC Hammond retired after serving 27 years with the U.S. Army.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his son, Kenneth and grand- daughter, Lisa.
Mr. Hammond is survived by his wife of 71 years, Elizabeth “Beth” Dukes Hammond of Daleville; his daughters, Dorothy Barger (H. Richard) of Arlington, TX. , Susan Leppert of Dothan; his grandchildren, Holly, Jesse, Ricky and Luke; also surviving are several great-grandchildren.
