Graveside services will be at 2:00pm, Wednesday, February 15, 2012 at Woodlawn Memory Gardens with full military honors and Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:30 until 1:45pm on Wednesday prior to the service.

Mr. Root was born April 5, 1926 to the late John and Ida Demmy Root in Ephrata, Pa. He served his country in the US Air Force from 1944 until his retirement as Senior Master Sergeant in 1966.

He is preceded in death by his parents and daughter, Patricia Dianne Root.

Mr. Root is survived by his wife, Myrtie Root of Midland City; his daughters, Kathryn Asodi (Mike) of Ozark and Carolyn Root Parson of New York, NY; his sons, Carl E. Root (Jan) of Summerfield, FL. and John L. Root of Pensacola, FL.; a brother, Walter Root (Esther) of Pa.; his grandchildren, Allison Morgan, Colin Root, Carla Root and Victoria Asodi; and one great-grandchild, Sheridan Morgan.
