Mr. Anacleto Quilon Nicholas, 92, of Oxnard passed away peacefully with two sons at his side on the morning of August 9, 2014 at St. John’s Hospital. Anacleto Q. Nicholas was born July 13, 1922 in a small town of Quezon, in the province of Nueva Ecija, Philippines. The first child of Maria and Isidro Nicolas followed by nine siblings: Isabel, Macario (deceased), Esing, Moises, Ely, Ebeng, Anke, Wilson (deceased), and Manoling.
Anacleto attended Jose Rizal College, Manila majors in Commerce and Finance. He was a resident of Ventura County for 14 years moving here from Guam where he immigrated in 1948. He brought all of his family from the Philippines in 1963 uniting with him to start a promising life together. He resided in that beautiful island until 2000, after retiring from a successful career as a Financial Advisor and Insurance Marketing Representative of The Prudential Insurance Company.
“Don Clayton” is survived by his sons: Armando (wife Remy) and Romulo (wife Jessica); Daughters: Wilhelmina (husband Rene) and Carmencita.
He also leaves behind his beloved grandchildren Aris (wife Noemi), Anna, Odessa, Ulysses, Arvin, Christine, April, Carl, and Roy Jerome; and adorable first great grandchild Levi AG Nicholas.
Anacleto has joined his beautiful wife of 70 years Rosie Raposa Nicholas in heaven in the Kingdom of God for a peaceful eternal new life.
For Aclet (aka Nick, A.Q. or Don Clayton) there were no strangers in the world, only friends he had yet to meet. He could hold a conversation immediately with anybody. Everyone was interesting. His strong and out going personality would light up any room he step foot in. He shall forever resonate in the lives of those who had the pleasure of being with him. Anacleto was a Great Man.
The memories, love and legacy he has passed along will always be remembered, never forgotten. All of him will be missed.
A Vigil will be held Thursday 4:00 p.m. with Rosary service at 6:30 p.m. August 21, 2014 in the Chapel at Funeraria Del Angel Conrad Carroll, 401 W. Channel Isl. Blvd., Oxnard, CA 93033 (805)487-4911
A funeral mass will be celebrated Friday, August 22, 2014., 10:00am at Santa Clara Catholic Church, 323 South E. Street, Oxnard., followed by interment at Santa Clara Cemetery, Oxnard.
