Thomas “Tom” Jeffrey Wise, age 65 of Deltona, Florida passed away peacefully at his home early Monday morning, September 5, 2022, following a lengthy heart condition. He was born September 3, 1957 in Buckhannon, WV to Russell C. Wise and Barbara J. (West) Wise. Raised in Aberdeen, MD, Tom graduated from Aberdeen High School in 1975. After moving to FL in 1978, Tom worked for the City of Winter Springs, FL, retiring in 2015 after 33 years of service as a State Certified Waste Water Treatment Plant Operator.
Tom was a lifelong follower of the Baltimore Orioles Baseball Team, and was frequently seen watching the games on his small iPhone screen when not at home watching it on his big screen. Additionally, he was an exceptional bowler from childhood on, competing in multiple tournaments. His career highlights include two 300 games, multiple 299 games, and several high series awards. Throughout his life, he dedicated his time to coaching youth bowlers and Special Needs groups at the Oviedo Bowling Center (OBC) and East River High School’s bowling team in Orlando, FL. He was very proud that for multiple years his OBC youth bowlers voted him Coach of the Year.
Tom was preceded in death by his older sister, Debbie (1969), his parents, Russell (1989) and Barbara (2009), and his niece Christina (1983). He is survived by his long term partner, Robyn Burleson, three brothers ; Russ Wise - Orlando, FL , Ken Wise (Rhonda) - Waldorf, MD , and Bill Wise (Lynn) - York, SC, 6 nieces and 1 nephew ; Kim, Tracie, Kenny, Allie, Holly, Bailey and Megan, and 4 great-nieces and 2 great-nephews ; Landon, Shawna, Brinley, Ansley, Christopher and Eloise.
Tom’s family will receive friends Friday evening from 6pm - 8pm at the Baldwin Fairchild Funeral Home in Oviedo, FL. Memorial services will be held at a later date in Aberdeen, MD.
