I just accidentally learned about Russell’s passing while surfing the web, looking for something else.
After graduating from college in the early 1960's, I moved to New Jersey to became the assistant to Russell’s father, Bob, in the New York sales office.   Shortly thereafter, Bob invited me to their home.  It was there that I met Russell, Ginny, and Ida (Bob’s wife) and later Douglas.
The following day, while I was outside, Russell (who was perhaps 7 or 8 years old) rode his bike down to where I was living.   To this day, I vividly recall the sparkling eyes on that child; full of wonder, excitement, and joy. We talked for a few minutes, and then he gave me a gigantic smile and waved goodbye, saying he had to get home before his Mom wondered where he was.
Over the next 4 years, my wife & I would socialize with the Voigt’s and I would see Russell frequently. He was always the same happy, inquisitive, and very social child.
In reading the other memories of him as an adult, I recognize the same Russell…obviously, he remained the same.  I am sorry we lost contact over the years.
To his family:
I know you miss him dearly, but consider the time you spent with him to be a special time, because he obviously was a very special person.

Though I only knew Russell a few short years he surely was a man that people liked to be around.  From his sense of humor, to his respect for people, to his thoughtfulness, he was easy to like and easy to respect. I appreciated his honesty and openness. 

Shelton, Mayda and family you are in my prayers.  May you enjoy the memories and experience the peace that passes all understanding. 

Russell will be missed.


I'd like to share my condolences to the Voigt family. I didn't know Russell well, but he was a good leader and a charismatic person to be around.  He will be missed.

My sincere sympathy to the Voigt Family.  Russ was always such a nice, kind person and a true icon at Westinghouse / Siemens. He will be missed by so many. I will keep your family in my prayers.

I am truly sorry for your loss. My family and I will keep you in our prayers and thoughts.

Russ was a true friend,mentor and a real people person. He always looked out for others and was always available to talk with. I know he is sadly missed by family but also the family he had at Westinghouse and Siemens will also miss a great person as well as a trusted colleague. Russ was well retrospected in the industry. He always found time to help others no matter when or where.



My deepest sympathies go out to the Voigt family.  Know that you are in my thoughts and prayers.  Russ was one in a million and I feel privileged to have known and worked with him.

As a customer of Westinghouse and Siemens, I had the privilege of working with Russell. He was easy to work with, cared about his team and the customer, and was driven to ensure the team won. We have lost a great man who will be long remembered by me. 

Today I am in Taiwan, however there is nowhere else I would rather be than to celebrate Russ’s life today in Oviedo. I’ve worked with Russ for over thirty years and his  qualities at work are too long to mention.

The  honor of having had a  friendship with Russ is the greatest thing I will remember.

Russell was a very unique person, he always delighted my kids and myself with his bright mind( like he tried to teach us how to pass candy crush levels, it was sooo easy for him and we were stuck in one level for weeks), his wonderful stories, his great sense of humor, and something that I will always admired about him...it was the way he loved my beautiful aunt Mayda, I will always be grateful for making her so happy. He will always be remembered and be in a special place of our hearts. Our condolences to family and friends.

I didn't know Russell nearly as long as some, but his impact on my life was still monumental. He lead by example,  and his personality never frayed. It wasn't hard for him to be a great guy, it came always natural. Russell thank you for all you've done for me and my family you will be severely missed. 

I met Russell playing golf at Tuscawilla CC.  He was always organizing and planning games, events and tournaments.  I was impressed by his ability to connect so easily with so many different people.  Russell was a good friend to many and he will be missed.  Mayda , Shelton and family please know that you are all in my thoughts and prayers.  God Bless.

What an honor it was to know and work around Russell.  Truly a great man. He will be sadly missed. My deepest condolences to his friends and family. 

I had the privilege and honor to work for Russell.  He was visionary.  He was a leader.  He was a man that I would follow into battle.  Unbelievably talented, smart, and wise.  We will not see the likes of him again.  He will be greatly missed.  My heartfelt condolences to his family for the loss of a truly great man.

Russell was my second-level manager at Siemens for five years, and although during those last two years we had a lack of business, he kept me employed in his department until I could find another position, so I will be forever grateful for Russell’s kindness.  May he rest in peace and I pray his family will be given the grace to recover from their loss.

Having known Russell for over 20 years, I had the great pleasure of working directly for and with him for quite some time.  I am very saddened and still numb knowing that he is no longer with us.  Russell was not only a great boss and mentor, but was an overall pleasure to be around.   His sharp wit, ethics, respectful nature and camaraderie will be sorely missed by all of us.    My heartfelt condolences go out to all of Russell's family and friends.

I have had the tremendous pleasure to have worked for Russ for over 25 years. He was a great leader & friend and the main reason why I stayed in Nuclear Operations for so long. He will be greatly missed. My thoughts and prayers are with Russ & his family.

Russell and I first worked together on field jobs in 1978. Later on he came my manager, and during all those years, Russell was always the same; I don’t believe I ever saw him angry. He had a unique way of dealing with issues in a serious way but was able to keep  the situations from becoming overwhelming. I remember one “activity” we had to do as a group. Our instructions were to list five good things about Russell and five bad things. We easily found the five good things, but after unsuccessfully trying to come up with five bad things, we just had to make something up. That was just Russell--a good guy. I feel fortunate to have been his friend for so many years. My thoughts and prayers are with Mayda, Shelton, and the rest of Russell’s family. 

On behalf of not only myself, but my wife Kelly, my condolences to the family of Russell Voigt. I have had the pleasure of knowing and working with Russell for about 25 years. He was truly a fine man, a person one could look up to for his leadership, his morals, and his work ethics. I always admired him for these qualities. He will be missed greatly, but undoubtedly is in a much better place. He, and his family are in our prayers.

There are no other words to describe Tio Russell than an EXCEPTIONAL HUMAN BEING. . I had the pleasure to spend really special moments with him and only God knows how much he will be missed. Sending healing prayers and comforting hugs to his sons and daughters and specially to Tia Mayda.. 


I am deeply saddened at Russell’s passing.  Russell was the first manager I reported to when I went to work for Siemens Field Service in 2000.  Russell, you will be greatly missed.

I had the privilege of working both in Russell's organization and directly for him for many years. He was a great man to work for, but he was an even better person.

Russell was a person of courage and conviction, never afraid to do the right thing, even when it was hard. He was smart, funny, kind and generous, and I am grateful to be able to say he was my friend.

He will be missed greatly.

Russell was a true leader, a great colleague and a friend.  I personally learned so much from Russell throughout the years.    Russell will be missed.   The lessons and ideas about the business that he helped grow and develop will be lifelong memories for me.   Thoughts and prayers for the entire Voigt family and friends.

There are some men who truly stand out as leaders and mentors. Russel was one of these men for me and for so many others. I feel privileged and honored to have met him. My condolences go out to his family. He will be greatly missed.

I have known Russell for several years from working at Siemens.   He was a good friend and always so good to me.  So sorry to hear about his passing it has bothered me for several days.  Much love to his family.

I am still saddened by the news and passing of Russell.  I never envisioned my self writing a condolence so soon. 

My thoughts and prayers are for Russell and his family.  I have to believe that he is in a better place to make any sense of it.

 Russell will be missed but not forgotten.
