Price, Mary Ann (Sue) peacefully passed away Friday, October 25, 2024 at the age of 103. She was preceded in death by her by Husbands Charles Thomas, Edward H. Fisher, and Charles Price, as well as her son Edward A. Fisher, in May of 2019 of Virginia Beach and stepdaughter Charlean Price Owens of St. Albans, W. Va.
She was born in Malden, W. Va. and attended schools in Charleston. At a very young age MaryAnn (Sue) married and divorced Charles W. Thomas. From this marriage she had her first born daughter Deanna. In 1941 she married Edward Fisher of South Charleston. They moved to St. Albans, W. Va. after the end of World War II. It was there they raised their family.
Sue was a stay at home Mom and very active in her church, St. Marks Episcopal in St. Albans, serving as a member of the women’s club, garden club and her girl scout troop. She and her husband Eddie taught Church School and were involved with their youth groups as well as the women’s Guild, Altar Guild and Bible School.
Sue was an excellent seamstress and made all of her girls, clothes as well as her own. Later in life she played bridge with friends from church every other week. She was an avid reader, loved arts and crafts, music, and attending concerts.
After her husband Eddie retired from Union Carbide they moved to Orlando, Fl. In 1974. They became very active at Saint Mary’s of the Angels Episcopal Church in Pinecastle where she spent many loving hours serving on the altar guild and Saint Monica’s Guild. For her love of the children she continued to teach church school. Sadly her husband Eddie passed away in 1988.
Years later she married Charles E. Price of St. Albans, W. Va. They met and became acquainted through a friend, visiting, from their church, St. Marks, where she had spent all those years in St. Albans. For ten years she and Charles became “snowbirds” traveling back and forth from Orlando and St. Albans. They both were devoted members of Saint Mary’s of The Angels, as well of St. Marks in St. Albans. They finally decided to make their permanent home in Orlando. Sadly Charles passed away in 2009.
Sue is survived by her children Deanna Alexander, of Montgomery, Al.., Bonnie Perry (Ken) of Orlando, Michael Fisher of Portland, Oregon, Ann Fisher of Orlando, and Patty Fisher Virginia Beach, wife of the late Eddie Fisher. She is also survived by stepdaughter Judy Wolfe (Donald) of St. Albans, W. Va. and 10 grand-children and 17 great grand-children and 8 great-great grandchildren.
Prior to her passing she resided at Inspired Living of Ocoee Assisted Living and Memory Care for two years. She received excellent care and was well loved by all.
