She was born in Rochester, NY on March 20, 1936. Marie graduated from John Marshall High School in Rochester. She studied at Rollins College in Winter Park and Valencia Community College in Orlando.
She was married to Charles W Tatman on December 1, 1995.
She moved to Orlando, Florida in 1977 and was an Assistant Innkeeper with Holiday Inns and later worked and retired as a Postal Supervisor for the United States Postal Service. It was during this time that she worked as a temporary Postmaster at the Geneva Post Office and fell in love with Geneva and its community. In 1999, she and her husband built their forever home in Geneva.
She was a member of Geneva United Methodist Church, the Geneva Village Homemakers, card club and book club, the Geneva Historical Society, the Rural Heritage Center, a contributor to the Sanford Herald and a longtime member of the American Quarter Horse Association.
She had a passion for life and everything in it. Her favorite things to do were country dancing with her husband, fishing, horseback riding, gardening and enjoying her Boston Terrier dogs.
She was survived by her husband Chuck Tatman, her sister Margie Gascon (Bob), her children Ed Raymo (Tammy), Liz Powell (Cecil), Chris Gropp (Jim), Claudine Burress (Eddie), Jeff Tatman, and Traci Parsons (Greg). She had 17 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren which she loved and adored each and every one.
Funeral arrangements will be held at Baldwin-Fairchild in Oviedo, FL on June 25, 2019. Visitation will be from 11am to 1pm with the service beginning at 1pm, followed with the service at the Geneva Cemetery.
