Services will be held Monday January 30th, 2012 at 3:00 PM at Tuskawilla United Methodist Church located at 3925 Red Bug Lake Road, Casselberry, FL 32707. Rev. Molly Warren will be officiating. Arrangements are entrusted to National Cremation & Burial Society Funeral Home.
He was born in Spirit Lake, Iowa, December 10th, 1927. Corky was a longtime resident of Sioux City, Iowa until moving to Winter Springs, Florida in 1985.
Corky was married to Jean Ann Meisenholder on August, 11th 1947, and he served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. Corky worked for many years in the banking and real estate industries. He was President and Governor of Sertoma in Nebraska, served as Commodore of River-Cade, and was a Mason, and a member of the Shriners of Sioux City, IA.
In 1993 Corky founded the Tuskawilla Shepherds, a non-profit dedicated to help those in need. He has fed thousands of people in Central Florida. He Came, He Saw, He Fed. Corky also enjoyed gardening, painting and spending times with his loved ones.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Jean Ann Arthur, a sister, Helen Sandmeyer, and his children Stephanie (Ron) Ege, Louise Arthur, and Harry (Julie) Arthur III along with eight grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and his dog, Pip.
He is preceded in death by his parents Harry and Mabel Arthur, a sister Esther Milholin and three brothers in-law.
