Gloria Jean Bryson

Gloria Jean (Beck) Bryson, age 73, died at her home, in the care of Hospice, after a lengthy illness, August 13, 2016. She was the daughter of the late Helen and Robert Beck, of Cheverly, MD. Born in NY, she spent her childhood and youth in MD.

Gloria graduated from Bladensburg High school, class of 1961. She immediately went to work for the federal government in Washington, DC, in the treasury Department. Later, she transferred to the U.S. Customs Service. Gloria retired after 40 years of service.

Gloria married Thomas Bryson of Columbia, PA, June 1977. They lived in several areas of VA prior to moving to Orlando, Florida. She made many friends and remained loyal to friends of youth. She enjoyed crafting, knitting, crocheting and shared the gifts of her talents with family and friends.

Gloria is the last of her immediate family, being preceded in death by her parents, and sister, Sharon. She is survived by her husband, Tom, and two nephews, Stephen Libhart (Harrisburg, PA) and David Libbart (Ponte Vedra Beach, FL).

A memorial service will be held Saturday, August 27, 2016 at 11:00AM at the University Carillon United Methodist Church, 1395 Campus View Court, Oviedo, FL 32765. NO flowers, but contributions to the Shriner’s Children’s Hospital or Hospice of the Comforter (FL Hospital Connected Care) will be appreciated.
