He was born in Alma Michigan in July 1963 to Mary Beth {Husband, Lake} Cascio and Glen Lake. He was raised in Lakewood Ohio and Graduated from Lakewood High School and attended Bethany College in Bethany, West Virginia. In 1981, he met Patti {Freeland} Lake and they married in September 1983. After working in Sanford for Invacare and Cobia Boats, Eric started a long and successful career in the fledgling computer sales world. He began selling computer hardware for BethCo in Maitland, FL and quickly moved onto Computer software and solutions. His final 8 years of his career was spent at Software One, as a Strategic Account Manager. At SoftwareOne a global solutions company, his talent for sales and customer relationships earned him many awards and accolades, often being among the Top 5 in global sales for many years.
Eric was a devoted and dedicated father to his daughters, Cassandra (Lake) Smith and Victoria (Lake) Huffman. He could always be found at dance recitals and band performances, whistling loudly and videoing or photographing the events. He was blessed with two wonderful son in laws, Nathan Huffman and Daniel Smith and thrilled and ecstatic to be a Grandfather to Benjamin, Eleanor and Lawrence the greatest joys of his life. Eric was a man of Faith, spending over 18 years volunteering at UCUMC in the Media Booth. And if asked, he would tell you “I am the most blessed man on Earth”
He is preceded in death by his mother, Mary Beth Cascio; Grandmother; Irene Lake and is survived by his wife of 40 years, Patti, his daughters Cassandra (Daniel) and Victoria (Nathan), Grandchildren: Benjamin, Eleanor and Lawrence. His father and stepmother Glen and Shirlee Lake; Stepfather, Peter Cascio; Brothers: Alan, Tom and Russ all of Ohio. Cousins Scott Lake (FL) and Lorrie Fischer (OH) and many other family and friends. Our world is a little darker without his beaming smile and bear hugs.
A celebration of life service will be held at 2 pm on Saturday, January 6, 2024 at Baldwin Fairchild Funeral Home, 501 E. Mitchell Hammock Road, Oviedo, FL 32765 with a reception to follow at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donation in his name be made to Cleveland Christian Home for Children, a cause very close to his heart or to the American Cancer Society.
