Bonnie "Dorothy" Marie Thompson

Bonnie "Dorothy" Marie Thompson, 77, passed away unexpectedly July 10th, 2023 at her home in Oviedo, Florida. She was born June 19th, 1946 in Philadelphia, PA, the daughter of Oscar (Tommy) and Dorothy Thompson.

She graduated Archbishop Prendergast High School, Class of 1964. After graduation, she began her professional life at General Accident Insurance Company of Philadelphia where she worked for four years until she married Joseph E. Heckler in July 1968. They had five children in their almost 20 years of marriage. While raising her children, Bonnie returned to the workforce as a Housing Specialist for the Federal Government, serving with distinction, and retiring after 22 years of service.

Bonnie was predeceased by her loving parents, Tommy and Dorothy Thompson. Surviving are her daughter, Kim Tedeschi, her husband Ken, their children Kailey and Logan; her son, Chris Heckler, his children, Carly and Cole; her son, Shawn Heckler; her daughter, Bridgette Herz, her two children, Tyler and Reece; and her son Joe-D Heckler, his wife Melissa and their children, Andrew and Amelia. She is also survived by her three sisters, Kathleen Giambanco, Janet Thompson, and Christine Cassidy, and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 PM on August 6th, 2023 at the Clarion Hotel & Conference Center, 815 Route 37, Toms River, New Jersey.
