To the Family of Thomas Kincaid,

I had the unexpected honor of being on the flight from Dallas to Kansas City that was bringing Thomas home to you.  Although i did not know him, I will never forget him and the sacrifice he made for us all.  I cannot imagine the sadness that you must be feeling.  I pray that God will grant you all peace from your grief soon.  God Bless you!

Memories of "Tom Tom" as a little one are what I have. He was sweet, he was gentle, he was kind to animals, he was concerned if anyone got hurt, and he loved his family above all else. He was Hannah's constant companion, he worshiped Jonathan, he was in awe of his daddy and without a doubt, Thomas was momma's boy.  Even as a child, he had a peacemaker's spirit and a caretaker's heart.  He was a gift of great value and he was born to those who could give him the love and the life he deserved. Thank you, Kincaids, for sharing your precious son and brother with the rest of us.  May God grant you peace and ease your sorrow at this sad time - you are all in my heart.

I met Thomas here in El Paso toward the end of last year; he was a friend to my daughter, Anais and the boyfriend of her best friend, Laura. My husband and I thought a lot of Thomas just in the few times he came to our home.  The first time we met Thomas, he came to pick up Anais and Laura to go to a party with some of my daughter's friends from Germany. He was so formal and polite even though my husband and I tried to tease him when we told him to have our girls home by 10pm (it was about 9pm). We also spent time with him at my daughter's birthday party in December at our house. He brought another soldier with him and he spent most of his time making sure that soldier was comfortable and had someone to talk to.  He spent a lot of time also speaking with my father-in-law who is retired army; they both had a lot of stories to share. Thomas was at our home for a small, Super Bowl party my daughter had for just a few friends. He brought a few of his soldier friends and he took very good care of all of them making sure they had something to eat and someone to talk to. I was so impressed with his sensitivity and the care he showed for everyone around him. My husband and I both commented how he was like the glue in a group constantly checking to be sure all were cared for and felt like they belonged.  For someone so young, I think this was so amazing and beautiful. My heart goes out to you and I am so sorry for your loss. We will always remember Thomas and just want you to know that he captured our hearts with his warm, caring heart and smile as bright as the El Paso sun.

You are in my prayers and may God wrap his wings around you and embrace you thru this terrible part of life.  Marti 6 years ago when my nephew died at 20 you were there for me every day and I will never forget that!  If there is anything big or small that I can do please call.
