Sharon Yvonne Davis, age 75, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 8, 2021 at her home in Overland Park, Kansas. She was born on April 10, 1946 to Onie Mae Bush and Denorval Tolliver, and shared a wonderful childhood with her two brothers, Larry “Pookie” Tolliver and Gregory Tolliver. Both her parents and her brothers preceded her in death. Sharon worked as an Executive Assistant for several prestigious organizations, including recently, her 16-year tenure at Swope Health. As a virtuous Christian woman, she always put God first and walked totally by faith and not by sight. Some of her greatest contributions included organizing and facilitating women’s retreats, prayer breakfasts, and youth groups. Sharon loved to travel, shop, read, and plan events; but most of all, she loved to spend time with her children and grandchildren. Sharon’s fastidious style and fashion showcased her grace and elegance to all who met and knew her. Her earliest ambition was to be a Newscaster. She loved to laugh and will always be remembered by others as a loving, fun, and kind person. Sharon is survived by her 5 children: Denorval Irving (Nellie), ShaRaye Roberson (Bob), Emanuel Davis (Kim), LaShonda Davis, and Courtney Archie (Gabriel); her 10 grandchildren, Stephen Roberson, Phillip Roberson, Alexis Irving, Tori Davis, Kaitey Davis, Paige Davis, Aneisa Rohleder, Jordyn Hudgens, Christian Archie, and Camryn Archie, and her only great-grandchild, Kobe Roberson. Sharon touched the lives of many and she will be greatly missed by all of us.
Sharon's service will be 11:00 AM, Thursday, September 16 at McGilley & Hoge Chapel. Her service will be live-streamed through the McGilley & Hoge Chapel's Facebook page for those who may not be able to attend in person.
