Ruth T. Noll

Ruth was born March 1, 1916 in Pittsburgh, PA to Lowe Talbott and Rose Harris. On December 13, 1938, Ruth married John (Johnny) Emmanuel Noll of Altoona, PA. He preceded her in death on March 10, 1993 and she never remarried. After several attempts at having a child, Ruth gave birth to John Frederick (Fred) Noll on March 24, 1947 in Pittsburgh, PA. He preceded her in death on November 11, 1995. Due to Johnny’s job at Chrysler, the family moved frequently with stops in Titusville, PA, Cincinnati, OH and, Oklahoma City, OK, before settling in Overland Park, KS in the early 1950’s. She remained in Overland Park until her death. Ruth worked various clerical jobs, including the front office at Shawnee Mission West before settling into retirement with her beloved Johnny. Ruth enjoyed knitting, reading, gardening, talking politics (Democrats only please!) with anyone who would listen, watching the Pittsburg Steelers, and spending time with her grandchildren. She was an avid pet owner, and her most recent cat, Roger, was her companion in her later years. Ruth is survived by two grandchildren, Derek Noll (Danielle Schmitt) of Kansas City, MO and Melissa Geffert (Adam) of Prairie Village, KS, two great-grandchildren, Hannah and Sydney Geffert and Charles and Judy McCormick of Altoona, PA.

Funeral Services will be 11:00am, Saturday, September 17, 2011, at Village Presbyterian Church, 6641 Mission Rd., Prairie Village, KS. A reception will follow at the church.
