Robert MacIntyre, 82, passed away November 9, 2011 at home surrounded by his family. Bob was born February 8, 1929 in Santa Barbara, CA to Robert and Isabel MacIntyre. Bob was raised in Kansas City, MO where he graduated from Westport High School. After high school he joined the Army where he proudly served his country. Bob graduated from Kansas State in 1952, where he was a walk-on for the Wildcats football team, and remained a loyal K-State supporter. While in college he met and married his wife of 57 years, Mary Alice Prather. He began his career in the lumber business at Overland Park Lumber Co., and later becoming part owner of Landmark Lumber and Timberwood Lumber. “Mac was a damn good lumberman.”
He was preceded in death by his wife Mary Alice, and son Robert Stephen MacIntyre. He is survived by daughters, Cathi L. Cook and husband Kris of Camdenton, MO., and Leslie A. Myers and husband Pat of Overland Park, KS; grandchildren, Patrick and Tommy Myers, and Kyle Cook and Brianna Cowley.
Memorial services will be 11a.m., Saturday, November 12, 2011 at McGilley & Hoge Chapel, 8024 Santa Fe Dr., Overland Park, KS 66204.
