Richard “Dick” F. Krause, 90, Overland Park, KS passed away Tuesday, February 28, 2012 at his home surrounded by his loving family. There will be a visitation Wednesday, February 29th from 5:00-7:00 p.m. with a Rosary prayed at 7:00 p.m. at McGilley & Hoge Memorial Chapel, 8024 Santa Fe Drive, Overland Park, KS. Mass of Christian Burial will be 3:00 p.m. with a visitation beginning at 2:00 p.m., Thursday March 1, 2012, at Queen of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 71st and Metcalf, Overland Park, KS. Private entombment will be at Resurrection Cemetery, Lenexa, KS. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Queen of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church.
Dick was born on February 10, 1922 in Beloit, WI. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII as a Machinist Mate 1st Class on the U.S.S. Ludlow. He retired from Fairbanks Morse Corporation in 1985 after 44 years of service. Dick was active with the Boy Scout Troop at Queen and enjoyed playing bridge and cribbage. He was an avid golfer and was awarded a plaque from the Overland Park 2-man Seniors Golf League for 20 years dedicated service as Treasurer/Secretary.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Patricia; his parents, Frank Charles Krause and Alma Jenny Sophie Loebel; two sisters, Ruth Hughes and Helen Krause; and son-in-law, Robert Pierce. Survivors include his children; Linda (Gary) March, Susan (Sledge) Thomas, Tom (Crystal) Krause, Betsy Pierce, Bill (Ann) Krause, Barb (Marty) Decker, and Tom Nelson; sisters; Lucille Shutter and Jeanne Wieland; 9 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
