Michael M. Peyton, 11, of Prairie Village, KS, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on February 1, 2012. Michael was currently in the fifth grade and attended Oak Park Carpenter Elementary School. He enjoyed singing, listening to music, tickle-fests, swinging, wild boy games, snuggling and playing games with mommy. Facing many challenges in his life, Michael was an inspiration and hero to many for beating all of the odds put in front of him. He was special to many, in that most had their own unique nickname especially for him. His laugh was infectious; once you heard it, you couldn’t get enough of it. Michael’s teachers often said he was the happiest kid in school, while his family knew one smile from him could turn the gloomiest of days into a sunny one.
Michael is survived by: his mother, Kelly McCord; grandparents Tom and Ann McCord; aunt, Ashley McCord; aunt and uncle, Mary and Brian Doss; as well as cousin, Lily Doss. Mass of Christian Burial will be 4 PM, Tuesday, February 7, at Church of St. Ann, 7231 Mission Road, Prairie Village. A reception will follow at the home. Donations and memorials may be made to the McCord family. Please offer condolences at www.mcgilleyhoge.com.
Arrangements under the direction of McGilley & Hoge, Overland Park, KS.
