Michael Robert Beatty, age 47, of Gardner, Kansas passed away suddenly at his home in Gardner, Kansas on Tuesday, October 11, 2022. A private graveside service will be held Tuesday, November 29, 2022 in Resurrection Catholic Cemetery, Lenexa Kansas. A Celebration of Michael's Life will be held in the Spring of 2023.
Michael was born on October 2, 1975 in Tucson, Arizona to Michael Lee and Debra (Potter) Beatty. Michael always had an inquisitive mind and a passion for technology, music, and a love of animals. He received his first computer (Commodore 64) when he was 8 years old, and he would write code for programs and store them on a cassette tape. Michael also found a passion for music. He liked piano, which he showed an interest in. However, he wanted to play the violin and he took lessons. In his twenties, he purchased a Gibson Les Paul Studio electric guitar. He was proud of this guitar and he taught himself how to play. A few years later, he purchased a Martin acoustic guitar.
He liked all genres of music, even bands from the 60's. He loved the music from Eric Clapton, and went to his concert in the 90's, which was a dream of his.
While in high school, Michael started his own business "Sound Solutions", designing, purchasing and installing audio equipment for vehicles. He designed and installed his base audio system in a 1972 orange (the color was changed to Teal for a Christmas gift) Volkswagen Beetle, that his grandmother, Trudy had given him as a gift. Michael competed in Base (dB) competitions, and was successful in winning a few. His systems would rattle window and movable objects (our neighbors would tell us).
He graduated from Shawnee Mission West in 1994 and started his sales career at BrandsMart.
A few years later, he decided to go back to school and he graduated from The University of Kansas with a Bachelor's of Science in Economics degree. After graduation, he began working for MSE Audio, a company that specialized in cutting edge audio speakers/systems. He traveled the world (U.S., Europe and Russia) presenting this audio technology and helping to setup distributors. He was there for 13 years working his way up to International Sales Director.
Michael is survived by his daughter, Katelyn Beatty; his fiance', Jennifer Pink and son, Sharife Pink; his parents, Mike and Debra Beatty; his sister, Jennifer Gaguzis and her husband, Marc; and nephews, Alex and Jacob Gaguzis.
