Matthew M. Smith

Matt Smith, 33, of Lenexa, KS passed away on Jan. 17 at his home. Funeral services will be on Wednesday, Jan., 22 at Breakpointe Community Church, 10001 West 88th Street, Overland Park, KS at 10AM with lunch to follow at the church. Visitation will be Tuesday, Jan., 21 from 6-8PM at McGilley and Hoge Memorial Chapel, 8024 Santa Fe Drive, Overland Park, KS 66204.

Matthew Michael Smith was born Jan., 30, 1980 in Huron, South Dakota to Michael P. Smith and Linda J. Smith (Johnson). The family moved to Kansas City in 1983. Matt graduated from Shawnee Mission West High School in 1998, where he played varsity baseball and football. Matt graduated from Pitt State in 2002 with a degree in history.

Matt was employed as a sales manager by Blue Green Properties located at Bass Pro in Olathe, KS. Matt was into all sports and enjoyed just hanging out with friends the most.

Matt is survived by his parents Michael and Linda Smith of Lenexa, sister, Margaret L. Smith, of Wichita, grandfather, William F. Smith Jr., of Huron, South Dakota and numerous uncles, aunts and cousins around the midwest.
