M. Ann Preston of Prairie Village, Kansas passed away peacefully in her sleep on July 11, 2018. The Celebration of Life Service will be 4 pm on Saturday, July 14th a the McGilley & Hoge Chapel, 8024 Santa Fe Drive, Overland Park, KS, with the visitation from 3-4 pm prior to the service at the chapel.
Ann was born in Cleveland, Ohio on January 8, 1936. Her family moved to Joplin, Missouri at age 3 where they stayed until her 10th grade, when they moved again to Cincinnati, Ohio. Ann, true to form, graduated top grades in her class from Withrow High school, as she always did throughout her academic years.
Ann attended the University of Cincinnati business college and majored in accounting. She was the only girl in the program. In consistent fashion, she was inducted into the honorary accounting society, Alpha Lambda Delta. Always interested in socializing, she was also a member of Kappa Delta social sorority.
Ann married her college sweetheart, David F. Preston on June 27, 1958. They were married for 60 years and lived in various places: Washington, DC, Hawaii, Denver, Colorado, Lexington, Kentucky, and with a long time residence of Prairie Village, Kansas.
She was preceded in death by her father, Kenneth D. Keith and her mother, Clara Mahaffie Keith. She is survived by her husband and three children; Steven of Manhattan, Kansas, Brian and Alan of Lenexa, Kansas, four grandchildren, one great grandchild and nine grand dogs. She is also survived by her brother, Kenneth Keith of Hamilton, Ohio.
Mother, we love you, and you will be greatly missed.
