Larry Joe Dixon, 69, Overland Park, KS passed away February 12, 2015 at Menorah Medical Center after complications from cancer. A memorial service will be held 11am, Thursday, February 19, 2015, at McGilley & Hoge Chapel.
Larry was born December 12, 1945 in Adrian, MO. After graduating from Adrian High School in 1963, Larry worked on his accounting degree at CMSU while at Waddell and Reed and in the Army Reserves. Larry enjoyed a successful career in corporate finance at Paniplus, CBC, R&P, while traveling. He also valued his vacations with his son, Deron. They went on numerous trips around the country. After retiring from corporate life in 1994, Larry started consulting part-time, as well as his investment company. In 2004, he began biking, averaging 5,000 miles a year. Larry enjoyed his weekly coffee with Deron, where they would discuss finance, business, art and philosophy – “All in search of clarity”.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents Raymond and Nettie Dixon. Survivors include his son, Deron and daughter-in-law, Tana Dixon; as well as three siblings, Vicki Winship, Roger Dixon, and Diane Kotwitz and their families. Online condolences may be left at www.mcgilleyhoge.com.
