Jeff Heath, 59, of Prairie Village, Kansas passed October 29, 2017. Visitation will begin at 1:30pm followed by a memorial service at 2:00pm, Monday, November 6th at McGilley & Hoge Chapel, 8024 Santa Fe Drive, Overland Park, Kansas.
Jeff was born May 29th, 1958 in Kansas City, Missouri to John Richard Heath and Diana Mae Heath (née Smith). He grew up on Lockton Lane in Fairway, Kansas and attended Mission Highlands Elementary, Indian Hills Junior High, and Shawnee Mission East High School, graduating in 1976.
Jeff started Heath Electrical Construction in the early 90s. He worked for his dad, Johnny, as an electrician for many years before starting his own business.
He met Sara Heath (née Swanson) in 1990, and they married in 1992. The birth of their daughter, Kirsten, followed in 1993.
Jeff was a lover of many things. He was an animal lover who wanted to save every stray dog possible. He loved feeding the birds, watching owls in the backyard, and yelling at squirrels when they tried to eat his hibiscus buds. He loved going to the lake with his friends, Mike Ryder and Jimmy Dwyer. He loved bluesy music. He loved petrified wood and collecting gems and minerals. He loved watching the Jayhawks play basketball and yelling at the TV. He loved the Cleveland Cavaliers, the Kansas City Chiefs, and the Kansas City Royals. Jeff was passionate about helping people with whatever they needed. He could “MacGyver” most problems around the house, and his neighbors were always thankful to have his help during the aftermath of a bad storm.
Jeff loved his family, friends, and pets. He was a kind and loving guy who always tried to do the honorable thing.
He is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by Sara Heath of the home; daughter, Kirsten Heath; aunt, Marguerite Breckenridge; uncle, Sam Breckenridge; aunt, Colleen Todd; uncle, David Heath; cousin, Belinda Manos; cousin, Leah Breckenridge; cousin, Jennifer Starcev; cousin, Amy Bruscato; cousin, Brent Heath; and his beloved dogs, Wyatt and Penny.
