Gerald F (Jerry) Carroll

Gerald F. Carroll (Jerry) passed away March 15, 2013 at the University of Kansas Medical Center. Funeral mass will be held at St. Ann Catholic Church, 7231 Mission Road, Prairie Village, KS on Wednesday, March 20, 2013, at 11:00 a.m.

Jerry was born June 30, 1934, in St. Bridget, Kansas, the youngest of the nine children of Joseph and Lenora (Creevan). He is a graduate of Benedictine College and a retired employee of U.S.D.A after 35 years of service. In 1971 he married and is survived by his wife of 41 years, Jane. Together they raised their two daughters: Lisa Miller, wife of Eric and mother of Alex and Zoey; and Suzie Shepherd, wife of Jeremy, and mother of Max and Mila.He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers: Charles, John, and Leo; and sisters: Evelyn, Rosanna, and Mary. He is survived by his brother James Carroll (Teresa), Burlingame, KS, and Sister Shelia Carroll, O.S.B, Atchison, KS, and many nieces and nephews. Jerry will be remembered as a devout Catholic, who loved his family and friends, his Irish roots, college basketball, and his volunteer work at Shawnee Mission Medical Center.In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to St. Ann’s Building Fund or the charity of the donor’s choice.
