Francis J. McCauley of Eldon, MO died July 12 at the Jefferson City Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. He was born August 10, 1918 in Kansas City, MO. Francis resided in the Kansas City area the majority of his life. He moved to Eldon, MO following the death of his wife, Mildred. He served in the Army during World War II in the 713th Railroad Operating Battalion throughout North Africa and Europe. He worked as an engineer at the Kansas City Terminal Railroad before the war and continued with them after the war until his retirement. He was a charter member of the Knights of Columbus Kennedy Council and a member of the Knights of Columbus Clown Club (Britches) bringing joy to many handicapped and underprivileged children. Francis was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred McCauley, and his son, David McCauley.
He is survived by his daughter, Frances Lovelace of Eldon, MO; son, Joseph McCauley and his wife, Mary Ann of Independence, MO; Grandchildren, Jennifer Nichols and husband Steve of Bokeelia, FL, Travis Lovelace of Bokeelia, FL; and Great Grandchildren, Skyler Nichols, Peyton Lovelace and Trevor Lovelace of Bokeelia, FL.
Funeral Services will be 10am, Saturday, July 16th, at McGilley & Hoge Chapel, 8024 Santa Fe Dr., Overland Park, KS. Visitation will be from 9-10am prior to the service.
